The First Homes art installation kicks off the Singapore Memory Project exhibition series from April 3 to 30 2015 at National Library Board Plaza (Level 1, 10am - 9pm daily) and features a tenement house (1950s) tailor’s shophouse (1960s), colonial house (1970s), kampong (1950s-1980s) and first-generation flat (1970s) designed as part of an intergenerational collaboration with five interviewees above 50 years old.

Members of the public are encouraged to participate in the exhibition by pinning the location of their first homes and sharing their own memories on a 4.5m by 2.4m sized community art piece featuring a map of Singapore.
